Abstract

Stocks are one of the most popular financial instruments for investors to invest in. Before investing, investors should learn about changes in stock prices that are influenced by various factors. Stock price fluctuations are common in economic theory because they are driven by the forces of supply and demand. When there is high demand, prices go up; when there is high supply, prices fall. In the midst of the Russia-Ukraine crisis, the global community is worried about rising energy commodity prices and their impact on global economic growth. Russia is the world's leading and large producer of oil and natural gas. The two energy commodities account for half of the country's overseas sales. This research is motivated by the conflict between Ukraine and Russia which has an impact on the economy in Indonesia. One of the impacts is a decline in the purchasing power of shares due to panic from investors, especially in the mining industry sector. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of inflation due to the Ukraine-Russia conflict on the stock price index in the mining sector. In this study, we used a sample of nine companies engaged in the mining sector. Our data analysis method used in this research is descriptive data analysis.
