Etika Publikasi
Publication Ethics Statement
At Sociability – Social and Humaniora Journal, we are firmly committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. Our editorial policies are guided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and aim to ensure integrity, transparency, and fairness in the dissemination of scholarly work. All parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, peer reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to adhere to the following ethical principles.
1. Responsibilities of Authors
-
Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is original and free from plagiarism. Any form of data fabrication, falsification, or unattributed use of others' work is strictly prohibited.
-
Acknowledgment of Sources: Proper acknowledgment of all sources of information, data, and ideas is mandatory. All cited materials must be appropriately referenced.
-
Multiple Submissions: Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously is unethical and unacceptable.
-
Authorship and Contribution: All listed authors must have made significant contributions to the research and manuscript. Changes in authorship after submission must be formally approved by all authors and justified to the editor.
-
Conflict of Interest Disclosure: Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that may influence their research or interpretation of findings.
-
Data Access and Reproducibility: Authors should be prepared to provide raw data if requested for editorial review and must ensure that data is available for verification and replication.
2. Responsibilities of Editors
-
Fair and Unbiased Decision-Making: Editors are responsible for evaluating manuscripts solely on academic merit, without regard to the authors’ race, gender, institutional affiliation, or personal beliefs.
-
Confidentiality: Manuscripts and related information must be treated as confidential and must not be disclosed to anyone outside the editorial process.
-
Conflict of Interest: Editors must recuse themselves from decisions if a conflict of interest exists and delegate the review process to another qualified editor.
-
Handling Ethical Complaints: Editors will actively investigate and respond to ethical concerns, including allegations of plagiarism, unethical research, or disputed authorship.
3. Responsibilities of Peer Reviewers
-
Confidentiality: All information about manuscripts under review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage.
-
Objectivity and Constructiveness: Reviews should be conducted objectively and provide constructive feedback to improve the manuscript.
-
Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers must identify any relevant published work not cited by the authors.
-
Conflict of Interest: Reviewers should decline to review manuscripts if they have a conflict of interest with the authors or the content.
4. Misconduct Handling and Retractions
-
Allegations of unethical behavior will be investigated thoroughly by the editorial team, and if proven, appropriate actions will be taken, including retractions, corrections, or bans from future submissions.
-
Retractions will be issued when errors are discovered that significantly affect the reliability of the article, or in cases of proven misconduct.
5. Publisher’s Responsibility
The journal publisher, Madani Foundation, ensures that editorial independence is maintained, supports the integrity of the editorial process, and provides the necessary resources to prevent and address unethical publishing behavior.
